Gallery: Mein Schiff 5 Christened off Lübeck-Travemünde

Mein Schiff 5, TUI Cruises’ newest cruise ship, was named on July 15 in the Bay of Lübeck, Travemünde, Germany.

Built at Meyer Turku Oy shipyard in Finland, the 98,785 GRT ship was handed over to its owner on June 20 and arrived in Kiel three days later.

Mein Schiff 5 features a length of 295.3 meters and a width of 35.8 meters.

With 1,267 cabins, the newly built cruise ship can accommodate 2,534 passengers and 1,000 crew.

The cruise ship’s maiden voyage has begun on July 16 and will last until July 24, taking it to the Baltic Sea. From Kiel, Mein Schiff 5 will sail across the Baltic Sea to the ports of Tallinn (Estonia), St. Petersburg (Russia), Helsinki (Finland) and Stockholm (Sweden).

During the summer, the ship will travel on a variety of routes in the Baltic Sea to the Baltic States, Northern Europe around the Norwegian coast and in Western Europe. In the winter, Mein Schiff 5 will cruise in the Caribbean.
