Silver Muse Gets a Silver Coin

Silver Muse, a new cruise ship being built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for Monaco-based cruise company Silversea Cruises, was launched on July 1 at Fincantieri’s Genoa Sestri Ponente yard.

Fincantieri introduced the launching by holding a coin ceremony that consisted of welding a silver commemorative coin on the last deck of the ship.

Interior fittings will now begin, leading the vessel to its delivery, scheduled in April 2017.

The newbuild has a gross tonnage of 40,700 gross tonnes and an accommodation space for 596 passengers on board.

Fincantieri held a keel laying ceremony for the cruise ship in December 2015.

The Silver Muse will expand Silversea’s fleet to nine ships.

Currently, 21 ships are being designed or built by Fincantieri.
