Gallery: Svenja Loads 14 Damen Ships

MV Svenja, owned by heavy lift and project cargo transporter SAL Heavy Lift, departed from Vietnamese Halong Bay loaded with 14 Damen vessels, on September 11, 2016.

MV Svenja’s voyage began in Shanghai on August 30, 2016, when it started loading eight Stan Pontoons built at Damen Yichang Shipyard, China.

The 12.975 dwt vessel then sailed to Ha Long Bay to pick up six tugs constructed at Damen Song Cam Shipyard in Vietnam.

The vessel’s final destination is Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with arrival expected on October 15, 2016.

“Transporting multiple vessels on one heavy-lift ship makes the whole delivery process as efficient as possible,” Rimmert Berlijn, Damen Service Coordinator Heavy Lift, said.

SAL Heavy Lift divided the Stan Pontoon loading between the MV Svenja’s cargo hold and main deck and the six tugs will be loaded on the main deck.
