Gasconsult LNG Appoints New Board Members

Gasconsult Limited, the UK supplier of small to mid-scale LNG liquefaction technology, announced the appointment to its Board of two former executives from BP and Fluor.

Dr. Alan Stockwell led BP’s pioneering work which developed the highly successful Orimulsion® power plant fuel in collaboration with Petroleos de Venezuela SA.

Mike Sterne has a 30 year career in the international process plants contracting industry including senior level service with Fluor and Bechtel. In addition to his Board responsibilities Mike is also responsible on a geographic basis for Gasconsult activity in SE Asia and Australia.

Commenting on the development Bill Howe Gasconsult’s CEO said: “We are very pleased to welcome Alan and Mike, both seasoned energy industry professionals, to the Gasconsult Board. We look forward to what we are confident will be their very positive contributions to Gasconsult’s development”.

Mr Howe also announced that Gasconsult had recently raised funds via a share issue to fund project development and forge international co-operation agreements with selected counter-parties.

Gasconsult’s ZR-LNGTM technology is a simple, highly energy efficient and low capital cost process suitable for application with single train capacities in the range 30,000 – 2 million mtpa of LNG. Its simplicity provides a step change in economics for small to mid-scale LNG plants and opens the possibility of monetising smaller gas fields unable to support the cost of sophisticated base load technology. Its economics, both capex and opex, are superior to competing mid-scale LNG schemes including variants of the nitrogen expander and single mixed refrigerant processes. The technology, having no liquid cryogenic refrigerant inventory is particularly well suited to FLNG application.
