Gate LNG terminal’s throughput rises

The Gate LNG import terminal in Rotterdam received 646,000 tonnes of LNG in the January-September period, a 64 percent rise compared with the same period last year.

Overall, LNG throughput (incoming and outgoing) at the terminal was 953,000 tonnes in the mentioned period, a rise of 137 percent compared to 2013, according to the data released by the Port of Rotterdam on Friday.

LNG throughput is still limited in scale, but has more than doubled. This mainly concerns gas produced in Scandinavia that finds its way onto the world market via Rotterdam,” the Port of Rotterdam said in a statement.
