Gate set for Hammerfest LNG cargo

Dutch Gate LNG terminal in the port of Rotterdam is about to receive a cargo of the chilled gas from Statoil’s Hammerfest plant in Norway.

The 140,000 cbm Arctic Discoverer departed from the liquefaction plant on the island of Melkoya on Thursday, and it is currently located in the Norwegian Sea, shipping data shows.

The LNG tanker is scheduled to dock at the Gate terminal around May 27, according to the data.

Gate terminal received 372,000 tonnes of LNG in the January-March period, a 186.8 percent rise compared with the same period last year.

Overall, LNG throughput (incoming and outgoing) at the terminal was 517,000 tonnes in the period, a rise of 138 percent compared to 2014.
