Gazprom Neft Sends Its Largest Shipment of Oil to US

Gazprom Neft Badra, operator of the Iraqi Badra field, has undertaken the largest ever maritime shipment of oil for export in the company’s history.

A total of 1.78 million barrels of hydrocarbons have been sent to the United States aboard the New Solution crude oil tanker, Gazprom Neft said.

The 321,300 cbm very large crude carrier (VLCC), which flies the flag of Hong Kong, is operated by China VLCC, VesselsValue’s data shows.

As explained, this is, to date, the second oil consignment to the American market by Gazprom Neft Badra — recipients of the preceding 12 shipments having been European companies and refining facilities in the Asia—Pacific region.

Badra oil field with estimated reserves of over three billion barrels of oil is located in Wasit Province in Eastern Iraq. Gazprom Neft Badra represents the interests of the international consortium comprising Gazprom Neft (Russia), KOGAS (Korea), Petronas (Malaysia), TPAO (Turkey), and the Iraqi government.
