Gazprom, Shell talk Sakhalin-2 LNG output increase

Alexey Miller of Gazprom and Shell’s CEO Ben van Beurden met in Moscow on Tuesday where they discussed increasing production of LNG from the Sakhalin-2 project. 

“The parties appreciated the collaboration and discussed the option of increasing the liquefied natural gas output in the framework of the Sakhalin-2 project,” Gazprom said in a statement.

The companies signed in February a memorandum-roadmap for the preparation of FEED for the third LNG production train within the Sakhalin-2 project in Russia.

Sakhalin Energy, the operator of the Sakhalin-2 project, is owned by Gazprom (50 per cent plus one share), Shell (27.5 per cent minus one share), Mitsui & Co. (12.5 per cent) and Mitsubishi Corporation (10 per cent).
