Gazprom starts building Turkish Stream gas pipeline

Gazprom’s Alexey Miller informed that the company has moved to the construction stage of the offshore section of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.

Following his return from Turkey, Miller told Russia 24 TV channel in an interview that Gazprom reached an agreement with the Turkish party that the gas pipeline would be commissioned and, therefore, gas supply via this gas pipeline will start in December 2016.

“Today a decision has been made in Gazprom on constructing the Turkish Stream offshore gas pipeline. Preparations and mobilization actions have begun for launching the offshore section construction,” he said.

The capacity of the offshore gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey will amount to 63 billion cubic meters a year.
