RWO Secures CleanBallast Order for 4.800-TEU Container Ships of Peter Dohle

Bremen-based RWO GmbH – Marine Water Technology, a subsidiary of Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, is a leading supplier of systems for treating water and wastewater on board ships and offshore platforms. RWO has been a reliable partner of the maritime industry for more than 30 years, and has once again for the promising branch of ballast water treatment plants booked an important order.

The Technical Inspection of the noted Hamburg shipping company Peter Döhle Schiffahrts-KG has, in coordination with the associated Hammonia Shipping Company GmbH & Co. KG, made an intensive evaluation of the ballast water treatment systems technologies and products available on the market and in the end decided for the CleanBallast plant of RWO in Bremen. By mid-2013 the plants, with a capacity of 500 m³/h, will be installed on four 4,800-TEU container ships to be built by the shipyard of Jiangsu Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Company Ltd. in China.

The RWO CleanBallast plants, which currently can treat ballast water of up to 3,750 m³/h, are among the most sought-after worldwide due to their extremely low energy consumption, their simple plant conception and their user-friendliness.

RWO, Bremen, is a leading supplier of systems for water and wastewater treatment aboard ships and offshore platforms. Its product programme covers the treatment of drinking and process water, as well as bilge, ballast and wastewater. RWO is the worldwide leader in the treatment of bilge water.
