Glava to Use LNG in Glass Wool Production (Norway)

Project & Tenders

The Glava glass wool manufacturer in Askim has entered into a contract with Nordic LNG for annual deliveries of approximately 3,000 tonnes of refrigerated natural gas, which will be used in the large furnaces where among other things recycled glass is melted into raw material for glass wool production.

The refrigerated natural gas (LNG) will be transported in semi trailers from the operator and distribution company Nordic LNG’s plant at the Øra Industrial Estate in Fredrikstad.

Glava AS manufactures environmentally friendly glass wool at their two factories in Askim and Stjørdal, and is Norway’s leading manufacturer and supplier of insulation material and associated products.

The group has about 450 employees and its turnover was approximately NOK 1,350 million in 2009.
