GNL Quebec receives LNG export license

Canadian National Energy Board issued a license to GNL Quebec to export liquefied natural gas from its Saguenay facility. 

According to NEB’s filing, GNL Quebec has been authorized to export up to 12.65 million tons of LNG per year for a period of 25 years.

GNL Quebec is developing a natural gas liquefaction, storage and transshipment facility to export 11 million tons of liquefied natural gas per year from supply sources in North America.

The estimated cost of these facilities is CA$7.5 billion.

The company expects the facility to be in operation by 2021.
