The Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) has granted Aker BP consent to use Haven as an accommodation facility on the Valhall field in the Norwegian North Sea.

The Norwegian regulator bestowed an acknowledgement of compliance (AoC) to Macro Offshore Management for the Macro Haven mobile living quarters facility in October 2024.

This is a jack-up facility, delivered in 2010 by Drydocks World, Graha Shipyard in Indonesia. Producing since 1982, the Valhall field is now entering a new era, which is expected to result in 40 more years of production.

Aker BP aims to produce a billion more barrels, which is the same amount produced since the field came online. This will be accomplished through projects such as the Valhall PWP-Fenris development.

The project entered its construction stage in September 2023, with total investments in its development estimated at $6.6 billion. The production is anticipated to start in Q3 2027.
