Green Shipping and Moran Team Up to Build Feeders for US Coastal Trade

New York-based short sea container shipping operator Green Shipping Line (GSL) and Moran Iron Works (MIW) have signed a teaming agreement to construct Jones Act feeder vessels for the U.S. coastal trade.

GSL says that the company plans to build these feeders to ”offer shippers reliable, economic and frequent transport for containers and trailered cargos between U.S. ports.”

“We are thrilled to be working with Tom Moran and his team of visionary thinkers,” said Percy R. Pyne IV, Founding Partner of Green Shipping Line. “Together, we will build a fleet of state of the art, energy efficient, Jones Act feeder/short sea vessels for US coastal trade.”

Moran Iron Works specializes in custom modular steel fabrication for marine, power, mining, and other industries.

“We are proud to be a part of the Green Shipping Line team of forward thinking and progressive professionals. We are working as partners to bring forward their plans to revolutionize short sea shipping in the United States and reduce the impact of land based transportation methods on our environment,” said Tom Moran, CEO and Founder of MIW.
