GROW:OffshoreWind Goes to RenewableUK 2014

The GROW:OffshoreWind initiative supporting manufacturing business in the offshore wind supply chain will be appearing at the RenewableUK 2014 Conference & Exhibition, from 11–13 November 2014 in Manchester Central.

GROW:OffshoreWind will form part of an action-packed day aimed at showcasing all that is good about the sector, while demonstrating the potential opportunities of supplying the offshore wind industry.

A talk from Darren Carlisle, Managing Director of Complete Fabrication Services (CFS), will illustrate the programme, and specifically how support from the GROW:OffshoreWind service helped sales rocket from £1.1m in mid 2013 to an anticipated £3.5m haul by the end of this year, creating an additional ten jobs in the process.

Dominic Brown, Head of GROW:OffshoreWind, commented: “English Manufacturers have a proven track record of supplying global OEMs across numerous sectors and they can apply this capability to offshore wind.”

“We are estimating that the manufacturing opportunity in the billions and there appears a willingness to use UK companies. Our role will be to make sure they are ready, fit for purpose and in a position to take advantage.”

RenewableUK 2014 is the UK’s premier renewable energy event covering onshore and offshore wind, wave & tidal energy and small & medium wind systems. It will be attended by over 4,000 delegates, 200+ exhibitors and 150 speakers including top political keynotes from the Rt.Hon Edward Davey, Rt.Hon Gregory Barker MP and Julie Elliott MP.
