GTT, AG&P join forces on small-scale LNG

GTT of France on Wednesday signed a Technical Assistance and License Agreement (TALA) with AG&P (Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Company) of the Philippines.

With signing the contract, AG&P became only the third company in the world, certified as licenced outfitter to utilise GTT’s technologies, according to a company statement.

The agreement follows AG&P’s completion of GTT’s qualification program which included employee training and AG&P proving its ability to build membrane containment systems to the highest international standards, GTT said.

GTT and AG&P noted their cooperation will focus on the construction and development of the small-scale LNG supply chain especially Southeast Asia that has seen a rise in demand for LNG as fuel for power generation.

“This licensing agreement will enable AG&P to push LNG distribution into markets where there is currently a huge need for cleaner, more efficient and lower cost energy sources,” said Jose P. Leviste Jr, Chairman of AG&P.

With GTT as partner, AG&P intends to enable access to LNG in remote areas using modular liquefied natural gas solutions for both onshore and offshore storage in addition to LNG transportation through small LNG carriers or barges, GTT’s statement reads.
