GTT Wins LNG Shipping Innovation Award

On the occasion of the 9th Asia Gas Congress held in Beijing on 9 and 10th May 2013, GTT has been awarded the LNG Shipping Innovation Award.

The Award has been handed over by Mr. Zhang Weiping, Former CNOOC, Deputy Chief Economist on the occasion of the Award Ceremony on 9th May 2013.

Aziz Bamik, GTT Business Development Director, declared: “GTT was born from Innovation and it is a great honor to receive this Award which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the company. GTT technologies have been serving the LNG shipping sector for decades with a significant safety record. Recent designs developed for LNG carriers include 32 000 m3, 16 500 m3 shallow draft and a 4 000 m3 feeder vessel are perfectly fitted for the LNG requirements in China for safer and simpler operations for coastal trade, river trade and LNG fuel logistic chain.”

“Innovation continues to drive GTT evolutions for the maritime transportation and storage of LNG. As of today, 260 LNG carriers and 33 LNG storage tanks are equipped with GTT technologies. Currently, almost 90 LNG carriers, 9 LNG FSRUs, 2 LNG FPSOs are 2 LNG storage tanks on order are using GTT solutions,” he added.
