Gyxis Makes It Three

Newly-established LPG importer Gyxis Corporation (Gyxis) has signed a charter deal with Singapore-based Kumiai Navigation (Pte) Ltd for a new 82,200m3 Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC).

The LPG ship is going be built and delivered by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd by the second quarter of 2017, Gyxis said.

The latest contract brings Gyxis hired fleet in September to three LPG carriers. These include the time charter agreement with Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K”Line), as announced yesterday, for a new 82,200m3 VLGC to be built and delivered by Kawasaki Heavy in November 2018.

The company also inked a time charter contract for a 84,000 cbm class LPG carrier with South Korean shipping company KSS Line Ltd. The ship is to be built by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.

Gyxis was established on April 1, 2015, through business integration of the LPG units of Cosmo Oil, Showa Shell Sekiyu, TonenGeneral Sekiyu, and Sumitomo Corporation and is focusing on expanding overseas sales as well as domestic sales.
