Hafnia: Fourth LR1 Newbuild Delivered

Hafnia, a member of BW Group, has taken delivery of Hafnia Beijing, the fourth unit in a series of Vista Shipping’s six LR1 vessels.

The naming and delivery ceremony for the 74,999 dwt chemical/product oil tanker was held at CSSC Offshore and Marine Engineering (CSSC OME) Guangzhou Shipyard on October 25, 2019.

Flying the flag of Malta, Hafnia Beijing features a length of 228.4 meters and a width of 38 meters. The 86,000 cbm tanker has a market value of USD 38.41 million, according to data provided by VesselsValue.

The newbuilding will be operated by Vista Shipping, a joint venture of Hafnia and CSSC formed for the purpose of financing and operating the product tanker sextet. The operations of the joint venture are being managed by Hafnia’s LR1 Pool in Singapore.

The first three ships from the batch, Hafnia Hong Kong, Hafnia Shanghai and Hafnia Guangzhou, were handed over to the JV earlier this year.
