Qatari Halul Offshore Services has recently procured an Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) Ship Handling Simulator.

According to Halul, the firm is now one of the few companies in the Gulf region to own the Netherlands-built simulator, which is normally used in training schools.

He said that using the simulator various scenarios can be created for towing operations like rig moves, berthing, unberthing, and tanker assist operations offshore.

“The simulator has an option to program for both azimuth and conventional driven vessels. We also have a dynamic positioning system integrated with the simulator,” Seth added.
