Handley Surveys extends Wheatstone LNG contract

Handley Surveys extends Wheatstone LNG contract

Perth based, Western Australian company Handley Surveys Pty has entered into an agreement with Bechtel for a two-year extension to its surveying services contract for the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project.

As a result of the agreement, estimated at $25 million, Handley Surveys expects to create 30 full-time, jobs for highly skilled Australian surveying professionals. The positions will be located on site at Ashburton North, 12 kilometres west of Onslow in Western Australia.

The contract extension comprises two separate supply agreements. One agreement is for the supply of specialist audit surveyors to the Engineering Procurement and Construction team, the other providing high-accuracy structural mechanical and piping surveyors to the Inside Battery Limits portion of the works.

The extension of the contract reinforces Handley Surveys as a leading provider of geospatial services in the oil and gas sector. Structural, mechanical and piping contracts for the Wheatstone Project bring Handley Surveys’ current order book to around $40 million.

Handley Surveys now employs 60 full-time staff and has accumulated over 500,000 man-hours on LNG projects without a lost time injury.
