Höegh LNG’s FSRU Independence resumes ops

Norway-based FSRU provider Höegh LNG said its floating storage and regasification unit Independence has recently completed maintenance and class renewal surveys.

In a brief social media statement, Höegh LNG said the unit, serving as Lithuania’s LNG import terminal has returned to normal operations.
The task was completed afloat in Klaipeda harbor to minimize time out of service, the company said.
“We have gained significant experience as a pioneer in conducting on-site surveys afloat,” the statement reads.
Independence’s cargo tanks are now re-cooled with LNG delivered in an STS from the LNG carrier Arctic Princess.
