Hoover Ferguson acquires Uniteam’s offshore business

Hoover Ferguson, a container and workspace solutions provider, has acquired the rights and obligations of Uniteam Holding AS’s (Uniteam’s) offshore container rental business.

Hoover said on Thursday that the transaction includes a specified fleet of standard and customized offshore containers in Norway and Malaysia.

As a result of the deal, the company’s Norwegian management team will lead Uniteam’s operations, supporting its customer base through the transitional period.

Lars Olav Matre, managing director of Hoover Ferguson Norge, said: “We have been impressed with the quality of Uniteam’s fleet and are positive about the prospects this acquisition will bring.”

Kjell-Ivar Myrvang, CEO ofUniteam, said: “We are pleased to have signed this agreement with Hoover Ferguson as the company embarks on an exciting period of growth. Hoover Ferguson is well-known for its strong focus on exceptional customer service, and we are confident that this agreement will provide tremendous benefits to our offshore client base.”

In October 2016, three global providers of container solutions – Hoover Container Solutions, Ferguson Group and CHEP Catalyst & Chemical Containers (CCC) – finalized a merger to form Hoover Ferguson Group. The other two members of the Group are Brambles Limited, a supply-chain logistics company, and a private equity and infrastructure investment firm First Reserve.

The offshore assets of Uniteam’s rental fleet will be incorporated into Hoover Ferguson’s Offshore strategic business unit, which designs, engineers and manufactures workspace and accommodation modules, IBCs and CCUs for the global oil and gas industry.
