Second cruise ship struck by virus

A cruise liner has cut short its voyage around the Mediterranean after a virus struck down more than 200 passengers. Emergency medical staff boarded the Sea Princess yesterday and passengers were confined to their cabins after an outbreak believed to be of the Norovirus sparked vomiting and diarrhoea on board the cruiser. The captain of the 77,499-ton vessel has cancelled the last leg of a seven-day cruise around France and the Iberian peninsula, and will instead take his 2,250 passengers back to Southampton where the tour began on Saturday.
