Carnival puts in an order for its largest `Fun Ship’ yet

Carnival Corp. has ordered its largest ship yet for its Carnival Cruise Lines’ “Fun Ship” brand.

The Miami-based cruise giant said Monday it had exercised an option for a new 130,000-ton ship. The cruise line’s biggest ship to date is 110,000 tons.

The new vessel, scheduled for delivery in summer 2010, will cost about $740 million. Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri will build it.
