Oceanside Harbor: Dredging project to be set up soon

A contractor is planning to bring in pipe next week for the annual dredging of Oceanside Harbor. Don Hadley, director of harbor and beaches for Oceanside, didn’t have a precise start date for the dredging work. The $2.5 million project, paid for by the federal government, will dredge the harbor to a depth of 20 feet to make it safer for boats and will transport by pipe 200,000 cubic yards of sand to the beach south of the municipal fishing pier.
