Fishermen protest fishing season cut

SAN FRANCISO, CA, United States (UPI) — Fishermen staged a rally at San Francisco`s Fishermen`s Wharf to protest a likely cut or closure of the salmon season because of poor stock. The U.S. Commerce Department, which will announce its decision on the California and Oregon fishing season this week, is concerned about the salmon stock in the Klamath River. The protesting fishermen called for restoration of degraded rivers and disaster relief for fishing families, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
