Scotland: French fishing vessel in distress

THE French registered fishing vessel ‘Mariette Le Roch’ contacted Clyde Coastguard yesterday afternoon reporting loss of power. The ‘Mariette Le Roch’ was drifting two and a half miles off the Isle of Arran. Clyde Coastguard tasked the Arran Coastguard Rescue Team to the scene, they were on site with full rescue gear. Clyde Coastguard also requested the RNLI lifeboat from Campbletown to the fishing vessel. The Fisheries Protection Agency vessel ‘Jura’ proceeded to the scene as did the tug ‘Red Empress’.
