Historic nuclear-powered Savannah to get million-dollar rehab

The world’s first nuclear-powered cargo and passenger ship made its way to a Norfolk shipyard be cleaned and painted as a step toward making the ship a museum.

The Savannah was towed this morning from the James River “Ghost Fleet” off Fort Eustis to the Colonna Shipyard. The shipyard won a nearly one (m) million dollar contract to repair and spruce up the ship.
