Lockheed’s Middle River unit to lead combat ship project

The United States Navy awarded a team led by Lockheed Martin a $198 million contract to build a combat ship, officials said Tuesday. The project will be headquartered in Middle River.
This will be the Navy’s third Littoral Combat Ship, the second built by Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT). “We are excited to continue our partnership with the U.S. Navy on the revolutionary Littoral Combat Ship program,” said Dave Broadbent, general manager for Lockheed Martin’s Littoral Ships and Systems business, based in Baltimore County.
