HK to launch ship repair training incentive scheme

The Hong Kong government announced Monday that a ship repair training incentive scheme will be launched on Aug. 1 in the city with the aim to attract more people to join the industry.

Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Economic Development and Labor Bureau and the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, the scheme is in the hope of drawing more people of suitable caliber to help maintain the quality repair service for both visiting and local vessels and strengthen Hong Kong’s position as an international maritime center.
