Four crew airlifted off Dutch cargo ship

A Dutch cargo ship is under tow to North Eastern Spain after a second SOS call this weekend involving a chemical reaction with its cargo. The ship is loaded with fertiliser.

The first came early on Saturday off the coast of A Coruña, and resulted in the vessel’s engines being put on stop and a Development Ministry tug called out to tow it away from the coast.

The ‘Ostedijk’ was given authorisation to continue its route to Valencia on Saturday night.
