Charles St. Clair Brown, skipper and part-owner of Maximus, figures he is a sure bet to break the oldest record in yachting and that he’s even money to win the Rolex Transatlantic Challenge, which took off from New York on Sunday, May 22. But in his wager with former duty-free king Robert G. Miller, owner of Mari-Cha IV, he wants odds, acknowledging that the larger boat remains the fastest racing monohull in the world until some other boat proves otherwise.
