Huisman Readies for Aegir Pit Stop

Heerema Marine Contractors’ deepwater construction vessel (DCV) Aegir will dock next week for maintenance at the Huisman Schiedam quayside in the Nederlands.

The vessel should be at Huisman until the end of the year, the company specialising in lifting, drilling, and subsea solutions said on social media.

The DP3 Aegir, with ovearll lenght of 210 meters a 4,000 mt offshore mast crane and a 2,000 mt pipelay system, is capable of executing infrastructure and pipeline projects in ultra-deep water and installing fixed platforms in relatively shallow water.

The design is a customized Ulstein Sea of Solutions SOC 5000, with living quarters equipped to accommodate 289 persons in single and double cabins, with a maximum of 305 persons.

The vessel is fitted with two work-class ROVs work-class systems, and launch and recovery systems inside the ROV hangars suitable for 3500 m water depth.
