Hurricane Begins Lancaster EPS Offshore Installation

Hurricane Energy has started the offshore installation phase of the Lancaster Early Production System (EPS) development, located on the UKCS Blocks 205/21a, 205/22a and 205/26b.

The first operation to be carried out was the installation of the enhanced horizontal Xmas trees on the two existing wells.

The ‘Far Superior’ offshore construction vessel landed and secured both Xmas trees and is now scheduled to demobilize, the company said.

Additional logistical work is also taking place at the field ahead of the installation of the turret mooring system for the FPSO.

Dr Robert Trice, chief executive, said: “I’m delighted to see the start of the installation phase of the project with activity beginning to take place offshore. All work streams are proceeding well; we remain on budget and on schedule for first oil in H1 2019.”
