Hydratight First ECITB Approved Provider of MJI Training Courses

Hydratight First ECITB Approved Provider of MJI Training Courses

Hydratight, the market leading joint integrity specialist has become the first ECITB approved provider to receive an international licence to deliver industry leading ECITB Mechanical Joint Integrity (MJI) training courses and ECITB Technical Testing.

Hydratight’s MJI courses are the first to be recognised internationally by the statutory body and awarding organisation, the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB). These approved training courses are supported by Step Change in Safety and recognised as best practice in the UK.

This new licence will enable Hydratight’s courses to be delivered across the Middle East and will provide a clear route to competence for all onshore and offshore workers involved in the disassembly, assembly and tightening of bolted connections. Courses are delivered by certified trainers by means of both theory and practical modules, to elevate a bolted joint to the same level of skill measures and monitors one would typically apply to a welded joint.

In the Middle East Hydratight has two dedicated, multi-lingual full time trainers along with established training centres across the region covering Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and Kuwait.

PCA Mohan, Managing Director – Hydratight FZ-LLC, commented, “We have been working closely with the ECITB for a number of years and are delighted to be the first training company to be approved internationally by the industry statutory body and awarding organisation to improve safety performance in the Middle East.”

The certified training initiative by Hydratight is one of the major value propositions we offer to the region. I am delighted to see the acceleration on improvement of standards on safety, security and quality needs in the Energy sector. We will continue to invest in the region to support this growing demand as it is extremely important for our valued customers and to the whole world, as the dependence on Middle East for energy needs will continue to be dominant.”

Tony Featherstone, ECITB International Operations and Commercial Director, said: “It’s vital for the future of the oil and gas industry that we continue to improve performance in the assembly and maintenance of mechanical joints, reducing incidents and accidents across the industry. Hydratight’s new international ECITB MJI licence will help the industry to improve training and competence of the workforce in the Middle East.”

Jason Barnard, Technical Competency Leader – Hydratight, “Hydratight has been a leading training provider in the area of specialist critical bolting for over 17 years. We are very pleased to expand our relationship with the ECITB further into the Middle East by becoming the first MJI training provider within the region. Hydratight will soon add additional ECITB approved On-site Machining programmes to our portfolio to ensure local competency standards continue to be aligned with industry recognised best practice.”
