Hyundai Samho Bags Suezmax Duo

South Korean shipbuilding major Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HHI), a shipbuilding affiliate of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI), has secured an order for two Suezmax tankers from Arab Maritime Petroleum Transport Co (AMPTC), Asiasis said.

The 159,000 DWT Long Range 3 (LR3) oil tankers, priced at around USD 130 million, are slated for delivery next year.

The order comes on the back of the last year’s order for two similar vessels to be delivered in September and November this year.

This is the second order bagged by Hyundai’s Samho this year.

The first order for this year has been placed by a Turkey-based shipping company Ditas Shipping for two 158,000 dwt Suezmax crude tankers.

The deal, worth between USD 120 to 140 million, will see HHI deliver the vessels to their owner in 2018.
