Gail Net Profit Up 2 Percent

GAIL (India) Limited registered a turnover (net of Excise Duty) of Rs. 22,450 crore in the first half of FY 2012-13, increased by 21 percent against Rs.18,566 crore turnover in the corresponding period during the last financial year. GAIL’s Net Profit after tax for the first half of the FY 2012-13 increased by 2 percent to Rs. 2,119 crore against Rs. 2,079 crore in the corresponding period previous year.

The Gross Margin increased by 5 percent to Rs. 3,609 crore in the first half of the current financial year against Rs. 3,433 crore in the corresponding period last year. The Profit Before Tax increased by 2 percent to Rs. 3,058 crore in the first half of the current financial year against Rs. 3,011 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Segment-wise Revenue

During the first half of the current financial year, The revenues from Natural Gas Trading increased by 28 percent to Rs. 18,939 crore as against Rs. 14,781 crore in the corresponding period of the last year. The net sales from LPG and Liquid Hydrocarbons business during the first half of the current financial year have been increased by 2% to Rs. 1,842 crore as against Rs. 1,802 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The revenues from Natural Gas Transmission were Rs. 1,899 crore as against Rs. 1,919 crore in the corresponding period the previous year. The net sales from Petrochemicals business were Rs. 1,454 crore as against Rs. 1,574 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The revenues from LPG transmission during the first half of the current financial year were Rs. 110 crore as against Rs. 224 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Physical Performance

The LPG transmission during the first half of the current financial year was 1,658 TMT, up by 3 percent from 1,613 TMT during the corresponding period in the previous financial year. The Natural Gas transmission during the first half of the current financial year was 107.72 MMSCMD, against 117.90 MMSCMD in the corresponding period last year. The Natural Gas sales during the first half of FY 2012-13 were 81.92 MMSCMD, against 83.14 MMSCMD during the corresponding period last year. During the first half of the current financial year, petrochemical production was 193 TMT, against 220 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The petrochemical sales during the first half of the current financial year were 167 TMT, against 217 TMT in the corresponding period in the previous year.. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon production during the first half of the current financial year were 684 TMT, against 729 TMT in the corresponding period last year. Quarterly Results

GAIL (India) Limited registered a turnover (net of Excise Duty) of Rs. 11,361 Crore in the second quarter of FY 2012-13, increased by 17% against Rs.9,699 crore turnover in the corresponding period during the last financial year. GAIL’s Net Profit for the second quarter of the FY 2012-13 were Rs. 985 crore against Rs. 1,094 crore in the corresponding period previous year. The Gross Margin were Rs. 1,648 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year against Rs. 1,792 crore in the corresponding period last year. The Profit Before Tax were Rs. 1,373 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year against Rs. 1,568 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Segment-wise Revenue

During the second quarter of the current financial year, The sales from Natural Gas Trading during the second quarter of the current financial year increased by 28 percent to Rs. 9697 crore as against Rs. 7575 crore in the corresponding period of the last year. The revenues from Natural Gas Transmission business have increased marginally to Rs. 984 crore as against Rs. 980 crore in the corresponding period of previous year. The net sales from Petrochemicals business were Rs. 880 crore as against Rs. 938 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The net sales from LPG and Liquid Hydrocarbons business during the second quarter of the current financial year were Rs. 770 crore as against Rs. 988 crore in the corresponding period of last year. The revenues from LPG transmission during the second quarter of the current financial year have decreased by Rs. 114 crore as against Rs. 110 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Physical Performance

During the second quarter of the current financial year, The LPG transmission during the second quarter of the current financial year was 813 TMT, up by 2 percent from 796 TMT during the corresponding period in the previous financial year. The Natural Gas sales were 80.70 MMSCMD against 83.64 MMSCMD during the corresponding period last year. The petrochemical production was 113 TMT, up 2 percent from 111 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The polymer sales during the second quarter of the current financial year were 101 TMT against 129 TMT in the corresponding period in the previous year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon production during the second quarter of the current financial year was 357 TMT against 379 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The LPG and Other Liquid Hydrocarbon sales during the second quarter of the current financial year were 361 TMT against 378 TMT in the corresponding period last year. The Natural Gas transmission during the second quarter of the current financial year was 105.64 MMSCMD against 118.62 MMSCMD in the corresponding period last year.
