India Turns to US Shale Gas

According to Business Day Online, India has joined other countries which are turning to the US for gas, because of the America’s collapse in gas prices.

Petronet LNG talked with two US companies regarding the issue of India’s gas supply. India consumes 46.2356 MT of gas and imports about 10.13 MT.

Shale gas has turned the US market upside down from shortage into glut. USA now tries to find markets abroad. According to US Energy Information Administration, the US has the world’s second largest shale gas reserve of 862 tef, right after China’s 1,275 tef.
