Iran Ready to Export Gas to Jordan, Lebanon and Syria

Iran is ready to export gas to Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, Iranian Oil Ministry Spokesman, Alireza Nikzad Rahbar announced.

He said that the construction of the 56-inch gas pipeline to Iraq has started, which is scheduled to come on-stream by next summer, Mehr news agency reported.

He went on to say that, upon the completion of the Iran-Iraq gas pipeline project, neighboring countries, including Jordan, Lebanon and Syria can also utilize this pipeline and supply their needed gas through the pipeline as well.

“In the near future, a trilateral meeting will be held in Baghdad between Iran, Syria and Iraq to devise the necessary plans for extending the pipeline from Iraq to Syria,” he stated.
