IT Power to provide services to DECC

IT Power has been selected to provide technical support to DECC’s technical specialist framework in the area of hydroelectric and marine technologies.

Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has set up a tender to establish the Energy Technical Specialist Framework to help deliver UK’s energy and climate change policies and programmes in November, 2014.

IT Power, along with six other consultancies has been selected to provide services to DECC under Lot 8 dedicated to hydroelectric and marine technologies, including wave and tidal, IT Power’s press release reads.

Under Lot 8, which is worth between GBP 100.000 to GBP 450.000, suppliers will be required to undertake technical support services that include:

  • Cost structures and technology development in the marine environment,
  • Deployment, maintenance, foundations, marine growth/fowling on equipment and cables and survivability in storms.

David Nickols, IT Power’s CEO, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been selected from a long list of tenderers to provide these consultancy services to the UK Government. We are looking forward to working with DECC over the 4-year duration of the contract and will use our experience in the wave and tidal sectors to provide advice in relation to new government policies and developments.”
