Italy: Perini Navi Rejects Tax Evasion Accusations

Following a press conference held yesterday, 19 December, in Lucca by the Guardia di Finanza, the Italian Tax Enforcement Agency, and in regards to the subsequent news reports about their presumed involvement in a case of tax evasion published in several media sources, Perini Navi stated that they are totally extraneous to the tax evasion case.

Perini Navi said that, in reference to the accusations of presumed tax evasion, they have not been officially notified of any proceedings pending after their offices were searched by investigators and no evidence of wrongdoing was found. Perini Navi has always followed the law to the letter and hopes that the aforementioned case will be closed and archived as soon as possible. Being fully aware that the erroneous news reports already released have seriously damaged their image, Perini Navi reserves the right to act swiftly to defend their good name.
