ITF Promotes Six Technology Developers at ADIPEC (UAE)

ITF, the global technology facilitator, will promote six leading technology developers at the Middle East’s largest oil and gas exhibition and conference next week.

The organisation has created a ‘Technology Street’ display space at Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from Sunday, November 11 until Wednesday, November 14.

Technology developers Caltec, Corac Energy Technologies (CET), EV, M Squared Lasers Ltd, Meta Downhole Ltd and Westec Environmental Solutions LLC will all be represented on ITF’s Technology Street (Stand: AD090A) and hope to attract interest from the world’s leading operators and service companies.

Ryan McPherson, ITF’s regional director in the Middle East and Asia Pacific, said: “We have a fantastic technology street layout planned for ADIPEC which will help the technology developers we are working with forge strong links with many of the key players in the region. The technology which will be showcased will be of interest to many operators and service companies who are seeking the latest innovative solutions to challenges faced across the industry.”

Caltec is a world leader in Surface Jet Pump (SJP) and compact separation systems for improving oil and gas production. The company has a proven track record of adding value to projects for major IOC and NOC clients worldwide, including prevention of HP/LP backout, deliquification of gas wells, flare gas recovery and using compressor recycle energy to boost production.

CET develops technologies in the field of gas compression with the innovative use of gas bearings. The company has developed applications for natural gas compression to enhance gas well production which helps oil and gas companies to extend the production from otherwise uneconomic wells CET’s compression solutions are available for downhole, in-pipe and on-platform applications.

EV is the global market leader in downhole video which can be used in a wide range of diagnostic applications including fishing and dropped objects, pre and post milling, scale, sand and salt issues, corrosion and well integrity, safety valve inspection and fluid entry. The company’s camera technology can also be deployed on electric line, slickline, coil tubing or drill pipe to help operators understand what is happening in their well.

M Squared Lasers’ Firefly laser technology was designed to enable earlier and easier detection of hydrocarbons and other chemical leaks over a wide area from distances of more than 100m. The technology will help reduce product loss, avoid shut downs and protect lives.

Meta is the market leader in the supply of premium downhole isolation solutions to the worldwide oil and gas industry, mitigating loss of integrity, regaining stability in unstable formations and solving well architecture challenges. It has spent over 10 years developing, testing and perfecting a range of technology called Morphables, which include a casing reconnect system, liner tieback and barrier assurance. This Morphable technology provides a life of well, metal to metal, V0 gas tight seal with no elastomers and minimum loss of ID. Central to the technology’s success is Metalmorphology, a unique method of shaping metal downhole, which delivers premium downhole isolation for drilling, completion and production well integrity applications.

Westec Environmental Solutions (WES) has developed a ground breaking gas/liquid absorption technology which offers unprecedented reductions in equipment size over conventional absorbers in the areas of carbon capture, natural gas processing, gas purification, air pollution control and indoor air quality.

A not-for-profit organisation, ITF now has 30 global oil and gas operator and service company members. Qatar Petroleum was the most recent to join and will collaborate with ITF to find new solutions to boost oil and gas production in the Middle East. As the only global funding programme operating across continents, the organisation has facilitated the launch of more than 190 joint industry projects (JIPs) from early stage projects through to field trials and commercialisation. It aims to secure a further £50 million for technologies by 2015.
