James Fisher Delivers Wave Hub Project

James Fisher Marine Services has concluded the subsea cable setup works at the Wave Hub test site off Cornwall, UK.

According to Wave Hub, the project was wrapped up on August 12, and the vessels Aker Wayfarer and MTS Xplorer are clear of the site.

The works included the installation of four cable tail extensions set-up to transport power from wave energy devices linked to the Wave Hub, to the main export cable which goes ashore.

For this project, JFMS also enlisted the support of Mojo Maritime. Sister company, JF Offshore was involved in the project, supplying back deck equipment to support installation operations.

“All equipment has been installed and the electrical system is live. As-laid details from the final survey will be disseminated upon receipt so that charts may be updated,” Wave Hub said in Monday’s notice.
