Japan: Chubu Purchased 13 Million Tonnes of LNG in 2011/12

Japanese utility Chubu Electric Power Co said today it bought 13 million tonnes of LNG in the year to March.

The utility plans to purchase a similar amount of LNG in 2012/13, Reuters reported, citing President Akihisa Mizuno.

Chubu Electric signed a fully termed LNG sales and purchase agreement with BP Singapore in February to buy approx. 8 million tonnes of LNG over 16 years.
