Japan’s spot LNG contracted in October rebounds

The average price of spot LNG for delivery into Japan that was contracted in October was at US$6.1 per mmBtu.

This is an increase of 7 percent compared to September when the contract-based price of spot LNG reached $5.7/mmBtu, Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) said in its monthly report.

The price of spot LNG arriving into Japan during the month of October was at $5.7/mmBtu. To remind, METI did not publish the arrival-based price for September due to the lack of trades.

Only spot LNG cargoes are taken into account in this assessments, excluding short, medium and long-term contract cargoes, as well as those linked to a particular price index.
