JES Appoints New Board Members

JES International Holdings Limited (JES), a major shipbuilding group based in the PRC, has strengthened its Board of Directors (BoD) and management team by announcing some key appointments to the BoD.

The Group’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since 1 October 2011, Mr. Patrick Kan, has joined the BoD as an Executive Director, effective from 6 June 2013. Being the Group’s Business Development Director since 2009, Ms. Jin Yu, now has joined the BoD as an Executive Director, effective from 6 June 2013. Also, Dr. Fu Xiao Bin has joined the BoD as an Independent Director, effective from 5 June 2013.

The Group’s Board is substantially strengthened with the addition of the above mentioned Directors and the Group looks forward to capitalising on their combined experience and network to propel JES forward. A brief background of the newly appointed Directors is highlighted below.

Mr. Kan has been the Group’s CFO since 1 October 2011 and has been responsible for the full spectrum of financial and accounting functions, taxation matters, treasury management as well as investor relations function of the Group. Previously, Mr. Kan was the CFO of China Taisan Technology Group Holdings Limited, where he played a key role in its Initial Public Offering on SGX in June 2008 and later the issuance and listing of its Taiwan Depositary Receipts in Taiwan Stock Exchange in October 2010. During 2000 to 2007, Mr. Kan was in audit profession as he spent those years with a few international public accounting firms, namely Deloitte & Touche, Baker Tilly TFWLCL and RSM Chio Lim, where he was involved in audit engagements including SGX-listed companies and initial public offerings at supervisory level. Mr. Kan graduated from Nanyang Technological University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and majored in Applied Economics. He is a Fellow of Chartered Certified Accountants and Certified Public Accountant Singapore.

Ms. Jin has been the Group’s Business Development Director since 7 June 2009 and she has been involved in the development and implementation of Group’s growth strategies, getting new business under business development and also in the executive management team’s operations and functions. Prior to JES, Ms. Jin was in the banking line where she worked in Royal Bank of Scotland from 2008 to 2009. Daughter to Mr Jin Xin, Chairman and CEO of JES, Ms. Jin has a Master of Arts degree in Legal Studies from University of Bristol, UK. Ms. Jin also holds an undergraduate Bachelor Degree of Economics & Finance from Nanjing University of Science & Technology, PRC.

Dr. Fu is presently the managing director of Shanghai Flywing Investment Development Co Pte Ltd since 2009. Prior to that, he was the assistant general manager of China Potevio Shanghai Industrial Park Development Company. Between 2004 and 2005, Dr. Fu was the assistant general manager of China Marketing Media Holdings, Inc where he was tasked with managing investing and overseas financing. Between 2003 and 2004, he was the assistant general manager of Shenzhen Youyi Co. and was responsible for the implementation of a management and employee buy-out. Dr. Fu graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University with a Bachelor of Technology Economy Degree in 1994 before obtaining his Master Degree for System Engineering from the same university in 1997. In 2003, he completed his Ph.D. in Management in the aforesaid university.
