Jiangsu Ocean Orders Three Boxships from Yangzijiang

China’s shipowner Jiangsu Ocean Shipping has ordered three 1,900 TEU containerships from its compatriot shipbuilder Jiangsu New Yangzijiang Shipbuilding.

Under the contract, signed earlier in September, the vessels are expected to join their owner starting from December 2017 to February 2018.

The ships would feature a length of 171,9 meters and a width of 28,4 meters.

The company said that the containerships, which were designed by the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design And Research Institute, would be deployed on a Southeast Asian route.

Jiangsu Ocean Shipping currently operates some 40 vessels which feature over 200 million dwt, according to data provided by the company.
