Keel Laid for SOV Tasik Toba

Keel Laid for SOV Tasik TobaTasik Subsea and Fujian Mawei Shipyard held a keel laying ceremony of the SOV Tasik Toba at the new Fujian Mawei shipyard on Culu Island in Fuzhou province, China.

The ceremony, which took place last week, was hosted by the chairman of Mawei Shipyard Zhang Zhitong along with senior members of the Fujian Shipbuilding Corporation, John Giddens of Tasik Subsea and Mike Meade of M3 Marine.

The vessel’s design and specification have been carried out by Tasik Subsea.

According to its specs, the Tasik Toba will be DP3 and have a 300 metre rated saturation diving system, hangar facilities fin-two deep water ROVs, a 150 tonne safe working load active heavy compensated crane with 3000 metre working depth, and accommodation for 120 men.

The first steel of the 105 meters long subsea operations vessel was cut on August 25 at Fujian Mawei Shipyard in Fuzhou.

The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2017.
