Klaveness Secures Bulk Sulphur Shipping Deal

Norwegian shipping company Torvald Klaveness has received a 17 shipment contract of affreightment (CoA) of bulk sulphur from the Middle East to the Mediterranean.

The CoA, which mainly comprises of shipments in the Supramax stem sizes, will be spread over a period of 8 months, continuing until early 2018.

Under the deal up to one million metric ton bulk sulphur would be transported, according to the company.

“This CoA complements our existing trades, and enable improved service towards our clients in both the Middle East and the Mediterranean,” Klaveness said.

The shipping firm added that backhaul-fronthaul cross-trades is an integrated part of its trading portfolio and this CoA “enhances our flexibility to reposition pool vessels to the Atlantic.”
